A Walk through Butchart Gardens in July

Near the Rose Garden, Butchart Gardens

Butchart Gardens near Victoria, BC is impressive to visit any month of the year, but the colours are particularly vibrant during the summer months.  A staff of 50 regular gardeners are at work bright and early each morning to keep the flower beds looking pristine, but during the summer additional workers are hired.  Some additional flower beds are grown hidden from view so that any imperfect plants can be immediately replaced.

The Quarry garden, shown below, is the area most shown in photographs of the gardens, but it is only one section of these vast gardens.  The Rose garden, Japanese garden overlooking the sea and the Italian garden are all lovely to stroll through.

  1. These gardens remind me of our visit to the garden on morning calm in Korea. 🙂 I love the pop in colour and the themed gardens. Walks like these are hard to beat. 🙂
